Uclick Announces Garfield Minus Garfield Application Now Available On Apple App Store

Originally launched in February 2008 by Dublin-based creator Dan Walsh, Garfield Minus Garfield reveals a dark and lonely world for its lead character, Jon Arbuckle, who seems to teeter between existential crisis and deep despair with an intense longing for human interaction. Walsh's approach takes the original Garfield strips and removes all of the key characters except Jon.

Garfield creator Jim Davis called it "An inspired thing to do," and said in a recent interview, "I want to thank Dan for enabling me to see another side of Garfield. Some of the strips he chose were slappers: 'Oh, I could have left that out.' It would have been funnier."

The original webcomic was later turned into a book and launched on GoComics.com, the comics portal for Uclick, thereby expanding its reach to readers and Garfield fans alike.
